Our mission

At Talkin' Dog, we’re redefining what dog training can be—grounded in behavioral science, powered by innovative tools, and always tailored to your dog’s unique needs. Using the LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) methodology, we combine modern, effective techniques with a focus on building trust and communication between dogs and their humans.

We offer a full range of services, including puppy training, behavior modification, off-leash training, private sessions, board-and-train programs, and behavioral evaluations. Each program is thoughtfully designed to address your goals while strengthening the bond you share with your dog.

How it started

With a background in Psychology and Early Childhood Education from Miami University of Ohio, Ari brings a unique approach to dog training that blends human and animal psychology.

After several years of training dogs and managing operations at a dog training company, Ari decided to open up Talkin' Dog, to infuse the company's approach with her own philosophy and deliver science-backed, compassion-forward canine care.

Beyond her experience with dogs, Ari has a strong foundation in animal training from her time working with horses. She earned titles like IEA National Horsemanship Exam and Practicum Champion and competed at the Interscholastic Equestrian Association Nationals. Her work as a horse trainer and show groom instilled patience, discipline, and care—qualities that define her approach to training dogs today.

Ari believes every dog has the potential to thrive with the right guidance and support. Whether you're addressing behavioral challenges or building a foundation of obedience, Ari and her team are committed to helping you and your dog strengthen your bond. Together, you'll create a relationship rooted in trust, understanding, and joy.

What our clients are saying

We rescued Goose, a two year old Shepherd/Husky Mix (or so we thought) a few months ago, and despite having rescued several dogs in the past, we just couldn’t figure him out. On walks he would pull on his leash while appearing scattered, anxious and unable to focus. Additionally, he was hyperactive inside the house as well, counter surfing, jumping up on people and over furniture. I was honestly considering looking for a new home for him because despite my attempts to train and connect with him, I just couldn’t do it. After just one week with Ari, we were awestruck at his transformation. Turns out Goose is mostly Cattle Dog, a high drive working dog that just needed to be understood. Ari helped us to understand the ‘why’ when he would exhibit certain behaviors which was pivotal for us to modify and correct them. 
  
Goose now walks softly on his leash with confidence, is non-reactive to bikes, cars, other dogs or sounds around him. Counter surfing and jumping up on people and furniture are now easily corrected and he is even learning how to trim his own nails on his scratch pad! I can honestly say that if it were not for Ari, we may have missed out on having one of the best dogs we’ve ever had!

Ari worked with me and my princess Cricket for only a few weeks, and in that short time, my dog has transformed completely. Once a stubborn 8-year-old who would pull on her harness like a sled dog, she now walks calmly right next to me on a slip lead with no issues.
